Director Otto Preminger reunites Dana Andrews and Gene Tierney in this rarely screened, but quintessential, film noir about a hard-boiled New York detective whose interrogation methods go too far. Gripping, inventive, and presented on a drop-dead gorgeous black and white print, you won’t be able to take your eyes off the screen until the credits roll.
Prints provided by the George Eastman Museum. Presented in person by TCM writer Hannah Jack.
